I just ended my first week of the semester. I’m taking 16 credit hours and was worried at first about the amount of work I saw listed on the syllabi. However, I was delighted to find that as daunting as the assignments seemed at the time of class that once I started to actually do them, I completed them easily and quite competently with time to spare.
It’s kind of an odd situation in that 3 out of my 4 classes this semester are just filling requirements and not related to my desired field. The fourth is relevant but a very basic introductory course I never got around to taking but need as a prerequisite to a higher level course I’m taking next semester. I’m studying my butt off, but the vast majority of my studying is self-directed because for 3 out of 4 of the classes I’m taking, my interest in them doesn’t extend far beyond getting an A in the course (as much as it pains the purist in me to admit it), and I’m studying for the fourth with an intensity that far exceeds what the course would require to achieve a top grade, reading supplemental materials.
All that aside, being in college again is awesome!
